Congrats, DDC! Your site is a daily destination for me, and I've learned much about the GN and movie by chatting with you and the other forum regulars. Cheers!

You like us! You really like us! :P

Seriously, the award isn't anywhere near as important as how this site got it. Sure, I sent my share of e-mails right along with you, but those were just a drop in the bucket and that's the important thing.

You guys really came through for us in showing your support and I am deeply humbled. Now, thanks to your persistence, we've rightfully earned the respect of another prominent website and its readers. This is an overwhelming thing and I'm proud to be part of it.

Thank you, my friends. Thank you, Doomsday. Thank you all.

I come for the content, I stay for the discourse. Thanks DDC! WCM is the first site I check when I get home from work, and sometimes--when I have time--before I go in the morning. Not to mention, the rabid obsession of most of you, reassures me that I'm not suffering from any sort of mental illness (or at least, am in good company) about Watchmen.

And the visitors sent to this site from the Total Film Blog Awards story page yesterday?

11.

Yes. 11.

And I know for a fact 3-4 of those clicks were me.

That really sucks. Does anyone go to TotalFilm.com?

Let's put this in perspective here's a sampling from a few other traffic sources...

Yesterday 2,220 visits came from Google; 585 from CBR's Lying in the Gutters blog; 360 from IMDB; Christ I got 143 visits from a small site called Toplessrobot.com.

The crappy halloween costumes got me around 1,000 times the traffic as the TotalFilm.com award story.

Ouch.

What gives?

Hurm...wasn't expecting you to get exactly a huge traffic increase given that Total Film Online's readership is relatively small compared to the movie sites they nick news from :) .
But yeah, 11 seems pretty damn small.
The actual magazine has a much bigger readership (second only to Empire) and should TF print anything on the results in the next issue, you should get a nice bump.
Still, it's more about the prestige than the hits isn't it? (points to gif!!)

to be fair, there's a lot of links on the page, and you really have to be looking for those blog awards to find them on that site, it's not the kind of thing you stumble upon, then you have to make it past the fact that a twilight site won the award you weren't originally even nominated for... i almost closed the window in despair at that moment

Yes, it didn't appear as a news story, only as a feature. Which means it was on the "Today on TotalFilm.com" slide thing yesterday, then completely off the front page today. I wouldn't expect many more clicks now...
