Wow, talk about a great movie. It was funny, thought provoking, and one of the best movies I have ever seen. Definitely recommend it to everyone.

I thought it was great, and because the humor was not expected, it was all the funnier.

Walt Kowalski... so much like another W.K. when you just glimpse it.

Been looking forward to this since I saw a trailer at the cinema a couple of months ago.

This movie was unexpectedly good and funny. I knew nothing about it before I sat down in the theater, but I really liked it.

Because Bale's Batman isn't the one who sounds like Clint Eastwood . . . ? Pretty sure the man's had practically the same voice for nearly twenty years.

I'm in agreeance with EmpiireX here.

I plan on seeing it soon. I think I'll wait until it comes to Mexico, which should be soon. Seems like a good movie, just not one to cross the border to and spend more money on than I would here.

Uhh yeah, but there's absolutely times where Eastwood takes on a grumbly, Batman-esque voice. Especially in this movie.

I don't know what kind of argument you guys are trying to make, but he grumbles and sounds like Batman.

As a movie and judging it on a serious note... it's not that great.

The point they're making, I think, is that Batman is pretty much Dirty Harry with a cape on. The Clint came waaaaay before the revised, modern Batman. Clint not sounding like Bats, Bats sounding like Clint...
Speaking of 'judging', wouldn't a Judge Dredd movie with Clint have been awesome?

I saw it last week, and loved it. I think it deserves some Oscar nods, but don't think it really deserves to win anything.

Saw the commercials. Real low budget film. Couldn't even afford a prop gun for Eastwood. Real shame.

I'm not going to see it, as I'm not a fan of films by Clint Eastwood starring Clint Eastwood as Clint Eastwood. *shrug*

True. And I personally didn't think, other than Clint, that the rest of the cast did that good of a job acting.

I guess I shouldn't have said Oscar(s). Just one nomination. For Eastwood. That's it.

Watched it in the weekend. It uses the sterotypical Eastwood character to illustrate a story about racism, community and redemption. Clint is a smart man, he is fully aware what his classic persona stands for, and knows how to use it. If you read it as a default Clint-cartoon, then you weren't really paying attention.
The film was written well, and if you think the supporting cast werent great, you should watch again. The exrended chinese family members are awesome... incredibly natural and with a great prescence. Toad, the boy... well, maybe he was a little self-conscious at times. The thing that let it down for me was the truly appalling, intrusively awkward editing. That and and the lame fast-forward-this-cringeworthy-montage-now soundtrack.

None of them were experienced actors, as far as I can tell. It's not their fault that they're awful, but they certainly are awful. Saying they weren't is like saying that the non-actors on The Wire (a great show) give natural performances simply because they're non-actors.

The film itself was okay, but certainly nothing special. I'd say it's pretty much on the same level as The Brave One from a few years back, and that got panned universally for being a shallow Death Wish knock-off.
