I wonder how many of us will still frequent these boards once Watchmen has been released (or a few weeks after, in anycase).

I, for one, will be around to read and contribute to what will no doubt be the most insightful analysis and criticism of the film, but I assume this place will inevitably clear out after a while.

I'm gonna miss you guys!

Yeah. Me too. There's a lifetime of discussion on Watchmen-related topics to come...

Good to know!

It'll be nice when the dust clears a bit, I'm sure...

I think immediately after the film will come out there'll be a big boost in activity with those who hadn't heard of the comic before but loved the film...
Once the next big blockbuster is released that'll die down, naturally.
But I think, even though there won't be much Watchmen news around any more to discuss, I'm certainly intending to stay here. Hopefully there'll be more room for discussion of the comic while we'll be able to get hyped up a bit in anticipation of the DVDs (especially the ultimate cut).
I trust most of us will do the same... ;)

I've often thought about that. I think I'll still probably stick around, but I imagine after about a month or so after the movie comes out I'd stop posting as frequently as I do right now. A big draw to this site for me is geeking out over new Watchmen stuff. Once I've seen the movie though....yeah, I think I'll be just a name you see every now and then. Maybe a new crop of regulars will pop up. I think I'll probably spend more time in the off topic parts of this site.

Oh, I'm sure we'll all start to see this place die down a little after the DVD is out. Maybe we'll all be brought back together to discuss Watchmen 2 when that's anounced... ...kind of scary to think about actually...just thinking of all the imdb members that'd be flooding this place...God help us all...

That's perfect for me! Four to six months is my average time for staying focused on a forum, and then I get distracted by something shiny. =)

And it won't die out for long. The movie is gonna do spectacularly well, and then there's the inevitable sequel!

Kidding, kidding, don't hurt me. ;)

I'll still be around as long as this site/forum is... and I pledge to continue with Moderating duties as well. :)

Really, though, I think the site will see a huge INCREASE in vistors for about 2-3 months after the movie comes out and knocks the socks off lots of unsuspecting folks. Then it will simmer back down to us "diehards", and that's fine too.

This site will go on.

Expect the content on the comic side to expand more as the hype for the movie wanes a bit.

We could probably discuss the movie for about a year ( :) ), and then we can all wait in anticipation for the Ultimate DVD. Then we can discuss that!

ah, i wouldn't worry about it dying gang. look at robotech's website. It's community is still strong after so many years with little to nothing having been added to it.

and like others said, there's always wm 2 to look forward....

I don't expect it to change; I mean I've been a member on a Cloverfield forum for a year now (which has been out even over a year), and it's still running strong. Just because the movie's already came out doesn't mean the forum's going to die.

Hey guys, just wanted to chime in and say even though i'm new, i don't think this place will slow down anytime soon. If anything more and more people will find out about the movie and in most cases they will either inquire more about the comic or they will join to talk about the movie. Specially come closer to the DVD release, i think that will be when the folks will have their biggest exposure to the film.

BTW: I love the forum, the site, Watchmen the GN (surprise) and of course the movie.

Are you kidding? Any more busy and I'd have to moderate this forum from a hospital bed.

Oh. I apologize.

I choose to interpret your earlier statement as a sign that DD, Carl and I are doing our jobs quite well.

Still, make no mistake: This forum is hopping.

I for one know my input here decreased recently but im back. I cant stay away for too long. This is the only place i can really discuss watchmen (other than with a select few friends) with those who appreciate it to the extent i do.

I love this place man!
