I read the 3 (is it 3?) issues the other day in 15 minutes and I have to say that for a comic writen by Frank Miller, they sucked balls :|

It had no plot and the only good thing about it was the hilarious and exagerating violence in issue 2.

Discuss Hard Boiled here.

I mentioned it already in the "what GN should I read next?" thread.

I have no more to add! Suffice to say that I have only read it twice, and that I have no desire to return to it. :)

You made a wise decision, son.

Dark Knight Returns and Sin City definitely had a lot more layers to them than Hard Boiled.

I think this was supossed to just be a violence filled orgy of blood... I don't think there was supposed to be a plot, but it was a fun little ride, nowhere near DKR or SC... not even near DKSA, but still it was worth the read I think at least... ***-- 3/5

Hurm... Miller's probably the most overrated comic writer around, in my opinion. DKR was pretty good (overrated, but still good) and Year One was awesome. I loved his Daredevil stuff, too, actually, but he can't write varied stuff, at all- hell, even Jeph Loeb's written some great stuff. For years, his stuff's become more and more clicheed- violence and drug-filled orgies. All Star Batman & Robin was ridiculous... and "Holy War, Batman" sounds pretty awful too!

The art was a bit too frantic for me. I am like a few of you in that I really like some of Millers stuff and really scoff at the rest. This fall under "the rest" for me.

Yeah, I like Miller's stuff but this was definately not his best.
