I missed the preimiere, but it sounds interesting sdid anyone catch it and does anyone reccomend the series? It seems like they have it on Hulu, but I would like to know if it's worth watching before sitting infront of my computer for and hour.

I rather liked it.

It's a bit rough around the edges, but it has potential. Definitely worth a look, I'd say.

It could be very good, but it probably won't be until after the sixth episode. That's when Fox will apparently allow Whedon to do what he intended to do with the first six episodes, instead of going with an episodic format to bring in the viewers.

It's like Whedon has a great premise and a fleshed-out universe with established rules, but doesn't really have a narrative for it. The characters were great, but I felt as if Whedon doesn't really know what to do with them.

Still, there is much potential here and I have faith that Whedon can make this into something special.

I definitely felt that way with the start. Those first ten minutes were quite rough. A good beginning can often be hard to come by. I thought things picked up quite considerably once we got into the meat of the episode.

See, here's the difference: The Firefly pilot (both of them) actually had some decent narratives. Sitting through the Dollhouse pilot, I kept thinking "Okay, it's kind of cool that we're learning about the Dollhouse and how it operates, but why should I be caring about this girl and her rich dad?"

i just watched the season 2 finale eps the other day, it was epic! shame it got cancelled but then, they would have never finished it like that if it hadn't been cancelled. this really goes to show how good you can make a finale if you know you arte getting cancelled far enough ahead of time.

Dollhouse question:

Can the dolls with imprinted personalities recognize themselves in the mirror ? Or are they programmed to not do so ?

I ask because I'm confused with the episode where Echo gets imprinted with the personality of Adelle's friend, she knew she was in a younger body, yet this isn't consistent with other personalities who have also been............inside.........Echo.

That's because Adelle's friend was an actual person with full knowledge of the Dollhouse, who made a copy of her brainmap that just happened to wind up in Echo's body.

The other imprints weren't copies, but personalities built from scratch and custom-made for Echo's body.

EDIT: Also, post merge and thread bump!

But not Amy Ackbar.

Unless you're into that sort of thing.

I must say Curi, I loved Summer Glau's appearence in Dollhouse, we criticized how she never got off River Tam adequately, but I think she delivered tender charm and borderline psychosis in fair satisfying amounts as Bennet Halverson.

Yeah she was great, it's amazing that she could make a character that sadistic and lovable at the same time.

I really like her now as an actress, and that's quite the progress since I thought of her as the geeks' newest eye candy.

On Dollhouse, I'm on the second season, I'm enjoying the show, but I'm not exactly as inmersed as I was with Firefly, and I can see how that makes sense given how this isn't really a "Whedon" show as it progresses.

Besides, I thought Echo's story before she was a doll was insanely "off-turning", a college girl who just wanted to "save the puppies", really ? REALLY ?

Yeah in my opinion the two epitaph episodes are the most whedonesque, and I think you might be less annoyed about Caroline's backstory by the time it finishes.

I am waiting to see the second epitaph episode, I really liked the first one, Whedon pulled some good punches with that one.

Also, I am having trouble making my mind about who is hotter, Sierra or November, *ponders*.

Sierra. November is cute though.
